New bag collection
April 1, 2026.
Welcome, April! I’ve got a new layout and a new blog section.
I just want to take this opportunity—and my boredom—to tell you that I have a new collection of handbags! I want to focus the blog on fashion as well, which is a topic I really love.
First of all, over the past few years, I’ve had several handbags, but many of them are now quite old and damaged, so I don’t use them anymore. It’s really sad, because they hold sentimental value, however, they are now stored away.
The truth is that because of college, I had stopped using my handbags and replaced them with a backpack, and you know what? I don’t like backpacks. I suppose they’re more practical, but I don’t like the feeling of carrying something on my back, and besides, I never like the designs of these. Who knows, maybe I just haven’t found one I like enough.
At the beginning of the college year, for some reason, I was carrying a lot of stuff, including a notebook that weighed a ton, but I don't really need it—I never did. I don't write anything down in college. We spend most of our time on computers.
These bags aren’t actually new, and I didn’t thrift them either—they belonged to my grandmother and my aunt, but they never used them or stopped using them, so they gave them to me. I really like secondhand clothes, to be honest; I think they’re more interesting and better quality than what I might find in a store today.
So let's get started.
She´s a lady.
Spiritually speaking, she’s a 60-year-old woman.
This bag belonged to my grandmother, but the reality is that my grandmother had a lot of handbags that she never used.
So I took it for myself in 2021, if I remember correctly, added the little strawberry charm hanging on the left side, and it’s the oldest bag in my entire current collection. And honestly, it’s already peeling in some places, but I still use it—though it’s true that it doesn’t accompany me as much in my day-to-day life anymore.
What I like most is the shape, honestly. I do feel like it looks a bit like something an older lady would carry, but it doesn’t matter—Mildred is that girl.
Most of what I carried in this bag was a pile of old receipts and a notebook where I never wrote anything down—because if there’s one thing that defines me, it’s my laziness when it comes to cleaning out my bags. But I try to make it a habit and not let it slide, because there comes a point when bags are filled with all sorts of things: silicone, sugar, old newspaper scraps, pencil leads, and so on.
It sounds like the name of a stand from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, lmaoooo.
But Diamond Heart—Diamond to her friends—is a modern, urban, trendy girl. The name comes from a BoA song with the same title. It’s a fun, girly song with a disco vibe. It’s one of my favorite BoA songs, and it’s on one of my favorite BoA albums, The Face.
If I were actually a party girl, I’d probably take Diamond everywhere—to all the nightclubs—but so far I’ve never used it, and I’m not on vacation yet, so Diamond hasn’t made its debut. Anyway, I want to go shopping to see if I can find something that goes with it. I love that it’s small, but it still has enough compartments to hold my stuff.
She´s kinda earthy, simple—you could even call it minimalist. This is one of the newest ones. It’s actually the little sister of another bag that I’ll show you in a few minutes. At first I thought about taking this one to college, but it’s too small—even for me, who doesn’t carry much anyway.
I have some ideas on how to pair it with an outfit and add a pop of color, since lately I don’t like dressing in very neutral or dull colors, so in the future I might decorate it with some charms to make it look more cheerful. I mean, Valeria is a chic girl, but she needs a few more little touches in my opinion so she can be chic but more in the stargze style.
I love her! Many people might say she’s cheap, that all that shine makes her tacky, trashy—whatever you want to call it. But she’s my girl, and I have lots of plans for Kiki. She’s actually very delicate, though—unlike other bags, she doesn’t have any leather, so I can’t put very heavy things in her, which is a shame because at first I wanted to use her to carry my MacBook, but too much weight might break her. Still, I have lots of outfit ideas with it.
I mean, yeah, she’s that girl. This is the bag I’m currently using for college—it’s comfortable and has enough room to hold everything I need. It’s still pretty plain, though. Maybe in the future, like her younger sister Valeria, I’ll decorate it more. I’m thinking of buying some photo cards to hang on it like a keychain; I hope to get some for my birthday.
Now, inspired by some photos I saw on Flickr, I’m going to show you what’s inside her.
-
What´s in my bag?
- Blue folder: I don't write anything at uni, as I said, but I carry a few blank sheets just in case, and I keep my exams in there too.
- Cutter: I'm constantly doing crafts for uni, and every now and then I need to cut something in class.
- Tape: Same thing—you never know when I might need to tape something together.
- Mechanical pencil and leads: I don’t want to write with a regular pencil anymore, and I don’t like sharpening them either—a mechanical pencil is the best option.
- Eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss: my everyday makeup. For my lips, I first apply a little bit of the pink one and then use the other, more sheer one on top.
- Headphones: It depends on the class; when we’re working on the computers, I always have them with me so I can listen to music on them. And yes! They’re red—I didn’t pick them, okay? My dad bought them.
- Photocards: Tiffany from SNSD, Heejin from Baby V.O.X., and BoA from her Atlantis Princess era—they’re always with me.
And finally, my student ID, on the back of which I put a photo of Tommy, my favorite artist ♥
